Dear Warrior Parents,

As published, we are providing additional information regarding the changes to the Homecoming 2024 March and Pep Rally.  We've had to make these adjustments due to conflicts with other student activities during the week. While we've faced similar challenges in previous years and have been able to find alternatives, this year we were unable to reschedule other events.

We understand that change can be challenging, but we're confident that with your support, we can make this a memorable event for all of our students. Here are the key details…

  1. Homecoming March:

    • This year we are having a Homecoming March, rather than a parade.

    • Candy will not be distributed during the Homecoming March.

    • The Homecoming March participants and the order in the march are: SB Police Dept., 185th Colorguard, Cheerleaders, High School Band, Athletes, Homecoming Court, Middle School Band, Students, Fire Department.

    • Port Neal will be closed from the Elementary’s north driveway to Warrior Road.

  1. Student Participation

    • As the march goes by each school, students will file in behind the MS band and march to the pep rally (Grades 3-12 students only).

  2. Parent Participation and Pick-up Time:

    • If you want to watch the march/pep rally with your children, please pick them up at 11:30AM.  Parents watching the parade with students are asked to watch along the west side of Port Neal Road OR on the West side of the high school.  For safety reasons, students watching with their parents will NOT stand with their class, will NOT participate in the march, and will sit with their parents at the pep rally.  Students picked up by their parents for the march at 11:30 will be considered dismissed from school and will not need to return to school after the activities; this will be considered a half-day absence.

  3. Parking:

    • School parking lots will not be available for parking

    • Suggested parking:

      1. Baseball/softball field parking lot

      2. Street parking on Topaz Dr., Golden Dr., or Warrior Rd.

  4. Virtual Participation:

    • The pep rally will be streamed on Hudl.

      1. Go to the school website and click “live events”

  5. Dismissal Time:

    • We will follow our regular early-out Wednesday dismissal (2:20) time on this day.  Students will return to their building prior to dismissal.

We want to emphasize that we are all Warriors, and it's crucial that we work together to make this event a great success for all students. We're asking for your cooperation and understanding as we navigate these changes. After homecoming week, homecoming staff and student council will be assessing the event and how to proceed in the future.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to the school office. We appreciate your flexibility and support in making this year's Homecoming March and Pep Rally a memorable experience for our entire school community.

Go Warriors!
